Visiting Cousins and Kayla's 1st Grade Musical

My cousin Mark, his lovely wife Bri and beautiful little boy Kai were passing through town for a couple days on the way to Oregon.  They just so happened to pick up Mark's sister, my cousin Hannah, up in Denver and bring her down with them!   It was perfect timing though because they were all here to see Kayla in her 1st grade Musical performance.  Based off the children's story book Frederick, all the little 1st graders were cute, little field mice.

Kayla's special role in the performance was to play the hand bells.
As a proud parent, she ROCKED the part!

The after show with Mark, Bri, Kai, Hannah, Lydi, Daddy
and of course the star...... KAYLA!

Snowed in!  Mark and Bri were going to leave for Oregon on this day but the snow kept them here for another day!  Yay for us because we got to spend extra time with them but I know they were anxious to also get to Oregon.  At least we were able to enjoy the snow!

What a beautiful family!

Hannah kept entertaining me so I kept taking pictures.  I love her youthful spirit and her eagerness to have FUN!

Kai and Malia were suppose to be a week apart in age but we all know God had other plans for Malia.  Anyways, there were so cute together.  For the most part they got along well except for the occasional wack or tantrum because they didn't want to share.  Malia was glued to Mark at times in attempts to make Kai jealous.  I'm not sure if it worked but I know Mark enjoyed it.

Kai loved this little computer!  If Grandparents are reading this.... he needs one for Christmas :)
We had a great visit with the Bowden clan.  We can't wait till they come back through.  Maybe next time they will stay just a little bit longer!  We love you guys!

Holy Applesauce!!

After 2 days, 8 boxes of apples and a lot of labor, we ended up
canning 80 jars of applesauce.  It was a lot of fun and it was quite rewarding
knowing we (Amy and I) did it all by ourselves!  We have great memories
growing up as kids making applesauce and now we'll have great memories as adults.

We were tired but PROUD!
(Lydi took this picture, not bad for a 5yr. old)

October Snow

The first snow storm brought a ton of excitement to our household this morning!!!
Kayla woke up first and then she woke up her sister with enough energy it could have
powered our house.  By 8:45 the girls were begging to go play in the snow.  Being the first snow
of the season, we had to dig out coats, gloves, boots, snow pants and try them all on for size, ughhh.  Thank goodness for hand-me-downs!  After a short while we had complete outfits. They might not have been matching but warm nonetheless!

These cute hats are from Ecuador.  Gifts from Daddy.
This is snow trip #2 with Malia and Daddy

 The AUTUMN snow man!

It's hard to believe that 3 hrs later the sun came out and there was barely a trace of our snow man.
