Birthday Weekend

We celebrated Amy's birthday on Friday and Saturday. Friday was
her actual birthday and my good friend from highschool, Jill, was in
town with her family to celebrate along with us. Saturday night we were
at Amy's celebrating with Aunt Dale and Uncle Steve.

I made cream pufs and boy were they good!

Aunt Dale and Malia

Aunt Amy got 2 new little kittens
As you can see, the kids absolutely love them!

Mud, Mud, Mud

After a huge storm that dumped piles of little
hail balls all over the grass, the girls asked to play outside.
I said you may play in the grass. Well, 5 minutes
later I checked on them and they were playing
in the mud. Kids will be kids. So, they played in the mud and
I took pictures.

Off to School!

First day of
KINDERGARTEN!!!!

We all went as a family to take Kayla to school.
You can tell she's the 1st child. Malia will probably
get dropped off when it's her turn :)

They meet in the cafeteria every morning and say the pledge
of allegiance before going to their class rooms

Pictures of her classroom
It was a day filled with mixed emotion. We were super excited for Kayla to start
kindergarten because she was so excited to start kindergarten. She has grown up
so much in the last month and is no longer sucking her thumb and she is riding
her bike without training wheels. Big accomplishments and she's the
one who initiated them all. As we were leaving her today, I thought for
the first time about homeschooling. Partly because I was sad she was going off
to school but guilty I was putting her in an institution, leaving her to be
molded by her teachers and peers. It must not have been serious guilt though
because by 2 o'clock I was wondering why I hadn't signed her up for full day kindergarten.

Pool Day!

Our good friends from our small group live in a great neighborhood
with a great pool. Michelle is so sweet to always
invite us and make us feel welcome whenever
she is going. Today we went and I brought Genesis and
her girls as a last "whoorah" before she goes back to Hong Kong and
before school starts next week. It was a beautiful day and we had a
great last time together until next summer.

Sydney is telling Zoe to "go"! Sisters, too cute

Little fishies in the pool

Refreshing Popsicles

She's a great baby, so content in the stroller

Sydney asked if she could take Malia home with her to Hong Kong
So sweet!

Making Lemonade

When life hands you a bowl of Lemons.......

make LEMONADE

We got back from the hot park and thought it would
be refreshing to make our own lemonade
(once again, playing with the camera)

.

And it was yummy! Gotta say that was my first time ever
making lemonade from scratch. I think the girls enjoyed it too! I'm not
sure what they enjoyed most, licking the lemons or the actual lemonade :)
